Faculty and Staff were delighted to host three Catholic Middle Schools from Casper, Sheridan and Cheyenne. The school groups were treated to sunny skies and plenty of wildlife viewings. Meanwhile the graduate students wrapped up their second week of academics in Advanced Elements of Field Ecology.
Currently the graduate students have split into their Winter Teaching Teams where 2/3 of them are engaged in Ecological Inquiry. An inquiry based course where graduate students choose a “hot topic” in and around the Jackson Hole area. Some examples of past inquiries would be Wolf reintroduction, Elf Refuge Feeding and “fracking” within the oil and gas industry.
The other 1/3 of graduate students are teaching Gillette High School. A group that has been coming to Teton Science Schools for over 30 years to our Field Education program. The students have had a fantastic week and are looking forward to their second week of Ecological Inquiry and hosting Whitefish Bay next week!
