Announcement: Kendall Peacock Appointed Head of Field Education

We are excited to share the news that Kendall Peacock has officially accepted the role of Head of Field Education at Teton Science Schools (TSS). This marks a significant milestone in Kendall’s remarkable journey with TSS, a journey that began in 2014 when she first arrived as a graduate student inspired by the power of place-based education.

Since then, Kendall has demonstrated exceptional dedication and passion in every role she has undertaken. With her extensive experience across various TSS programs, she is uniquely qualified to lead our Field Education team, which serves more than 6,000 students annually across three campuses.

Kendall’s TSS story began in 2015 as a Kelly Campus Instructor, followed by a role as a Jackson Campus Instructor in 2016. After a stint as a Teaching Fellow at Colorado College, Kendall returned to TSS in 2017 as a Lead Instructor, bringing a deep commitment to helping students form lasting connections to their places. In 2018, she transitioned into the role of Service Learning Faculty, where she managed the AmeriCorps program and led impactful stewardship initiatives. During the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Kendall showed incredible creativity and resilience, ensuring the continued success of the service learning programs by running virtual cohorts.

In 2021, Kendall took on the role of Staffing Director, where she played a key part in the relaunch of Field Education programming following a two-year pause caused by the pandemic. Over the past year, she has served as Interim Head of Field Education, working closely with Joanna Ahlum, who will continue in her role as Director of Curriculum & Innovative Teaching and Hannah McLimans, Director of Field Education Operations.

As Head of Field Education, Kendall will oversee the future growth and evolution of our Field Education programs, ensuring they remain true to our core values of stewardship, inclusivity, collaboration, and innovation.

“Kendall’s deep institutional knowledge, her leadership style rooted in empathy and innovation, and her dedication to fostering connections to place make her an ideal choice to lead our Field Education team,” said Joanna Ahlum.

Please join us in congratulating Kendall on this well-deserved promotion. We are confident that her leadership will continue to inspire and guide the future of TSS Field Education.
