Charles Campbell joined Teton Science Schools as the Place Network Director in 2021. brings to the role more than 25 years of experience as an accomplished education executive who is results-oriented and a dynamic leader. Charles has an extensive background in leading school districts to achieve significant sustained growth in academic goals, benchmarks, and other data metrics in pursuit of organizational excellence and high performance. He is an educational professional with extensive expertise in strategic public relations, educational reform, school design, instructional coaching and exceptional team development and management.
Charles has spearheaded numerous initiatives during his tenure. Some of which are: Led the development and implementation of a multi-year strategic plan for contract and alternative school networks, that grew its portfolio to service over 5,000 students, 400 employees, and create 15 high schools in three years. This process included coaching C-Suite leadership teams with school design ideation, program implementation strategies, team building and recruitment solutions; pioneered Chicago Board of Education’s communication and community engagement plan for the effective school transition procedures for the launch of 50 new schools under the Renaissance School initiative; streamlined CPS and state code for dropout age change, graduation requirements and alternative school acceptance policies; influenced external business relationships and community negotiations to advance school/district initiatives; fiscally responsible manager who maintained a $50 million budget and operated 13 school buildings; co-designed University of Chicago’s 6 to 16 Urban Education Institute framework and designed Multi-Tiered Support System for five PreK-12 schools. Outperformed the district performance ratings of schools each time in one year. Raised a high school to Level 1 status from Level 2+ and an elementary school rating from Level 3 to Level 2. Each school achieved “Good Standing Ratings.”
Charles earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Morehouse College and his Master of Arts degree in Educational Administration at the University of Illinois at Springfield. He is also a Harvard Graduate School of Education Class of 2014 Fellow in The Art of Leadership Program.
