In December 2010, the Conservation Research Center of Teton Science Schools mule deer research team began efforts to capture and radio-collar 30 mule deer. As of February 11, 2011, 57 mule deer have been captured including 11 fawns, 16 bucks, and 30 does. Twenty-four collars have been deployed on mule deer does. You may see the radio-collared individuals around the valley wearing white collars with black numbers written on them. Thanks to all the landowners who have allowed us to set traps on their property—without their collaboration, it would be nearly impossible to capture deer. Please drive carefully on the roads and watch out for wildlife!
